Life After 4

About

Somewhere around month four, most of the postpartum support disappears. The six-week checkup is behind you. The “fourth trimester” books have run out of pages. And yet — sleep is changing again, solids are starting, maybe you’re heading back to work, and the person you were before the baby feels like someone you’re trying to remember rather than someone you are.

Life After 4 exists for that specific, un-named stretch. Not the newborn fog, and not quite the toddler years either — the year in between, where the questions are less “how do I keep this baby alive” and more “how do I build a life around this baby that doesn’t fall apart every Tuesday.”

What you’ll find here

Posts organized by the month they tend to hit: sleep regressions at 4, 6, and 8–9 months, starting solids, the return-to-work handoff, the nap transition at 12 months, and the slower-moving stuff — identity, partnership, the mental load — that doesn’t resolve on a schedule at all.

What this isn’t

This isn’t medical advice, sleep training methodology, or a guilt-inducing schedule you’re supposed to follow to the hour. If anything here conflicts with your pediatrician’s guidance, always follow theirs. This is a shape for the day and the year — not a script.

The full system

If a post here is useful, the Getting Your Life Back system puts the trackers, planners, and weekly check-ins from every module in one printable set, so you’re not rebuilding them from scratch every time the week gets loud.
